Vision and Goals
The Impact Youth Worldwide Highlands Belgium vision and mission of of ministry intends to provide a secure framework, a fresh vision, and reach an end-time harvest in the nation of Belgium and throughout Continental Europe.
Vision: Although ministry to Belgian youth will be a natural emphasis, and our primary focus; the location of Highlands Belgium presents an unprecedented opportunity to reach the nations through both the geographic location of Belgium in Western Europe and the proximity of SHAPE NATO Base, representing 28 NATO Member Nations and 22 additional nations cooperating in the Partnership for Peace Programme. These military servicemembers live and work within a 20-mile radius of the Highlands Belgium in Thieusies – in total, representing nearly one-quarter of all the nations in the world. Stationed with their spouses and children, with limited recreational opportunities in the area (and English and French as the primary languages spoken at NATO), evangelistic programs at the Chateau will provide an attractive forum to present the gospel. Through this aspect alone, Highlands Belgium can make a literal global impact.
Goals: Our primary goal is to provide relevant, life-changing, Christ-centered ministry events for youth and young adults in Belgium and the surrounding countries, including the youth of military servicemembers stationed in Europe. These events will incorporate:
- Evangelism: to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20, to “Go,” we must continue to present the gospel, unashamedly, and bring souls to a genuine saving relationship with Jesus Christ. This will be accomplished through evangelistic events, where the truth of God’s word is made plain to the hearer and put in a life-application context so the hearer can make an informed decision to follow Christ.
- Discipleship: to continue the directives of Christ given in the Great Commission, we must disciple the nations that God has called us to. This will take place through two forums:
- Connecting: After an individual’s conversion, Highlands Belgium will refer the youth to a Bible-believing church, affording the opportunity for Christian growth and integration into a faith community. Churches will be researched and relationships established in the communities targeted for outreach prior to the events.
- Facilitating: During seasons where camps are infrequent (due to school schedules), the potential of the facility and staff will be maximized by offering events such as “48 Hours” Discipleship weekend retreats and evangelism training for students and youth leaders. Through targeted discipleship, youth will become evangelists to their peers and culture, creating a lasting and exponential impact.
